Catalog design
Segments
Group products with rules that keep themselves up to date.
A segment is a group of products defined by rules, such as Category is Outerwear and Material contains wool. Products move in and out of a segment on their own as their data changes, so a segment never goes stale.
Build a segment
Combine rules on:
- Categories
- Attribute values, using comparisons such as equals, greater than, less than, contains and is set
- Built-in fields such as SKU and label
Segments can be nested, so you can build a tree like Clothing → Outerwear → Jackets.
Where segments are used
- Kiosks use your segments as their navigation.
- The REST API can list segments and the products in them.
- Integrations only publish products that meet the channel's requirements, and PIM keeps that set up to date the same way.
